Somewhere in thousands of Hemet garages, there is a treadmill that has not been switched on since 2022. It started as a health resolution. Now it holds laundry, paint cans, and a stack of boxes nobody wants to touch. The problem is not that you want it gone. The problem is that it weighs 250…

Every October, Hemet gets its annual preview of fire season. The Santa Ana winds pick up, the air goes dry, and tumbleweeds start bouncing down Florida Avenue. If you own a home here, especially near the hills in Seven Hills, the east end toward Valle Vista, or the San Jacinto foothills, the brush on your…

Hemet is mobile home country. Between the parks along Florida Avenue and the 55+ communities scattered across the San Jacinto Valley, thousands of manufactured homes sit on pads, rented lots, and private land around town. It usually arrives without warning: a formal letter in your mailbox, your HOA’s name on the letterhead, and a sentence that reads something like “junk and debris visible on the property must be removed.” Maybe it is the old couch that ended up on the driveway, a garage so packed the door stays half open,…

You walk outside in the morning and there it is: a stained couch sitting on the sidewalk, or a pile of trash bags and broken drywall on the vacant lot next door. You did not put it there. Nobody on your street did. Someone drove by in the night and made their junk your problem….

An estate sale sells a home’s belongings to buyers, while an estate cleanout empties the property so it can be sold, rented, or handed over. Here’s how the two differ, which items belong where, and what to do first with an inherited home in Hemet, CA.
